Daily Life Lesson: Water Spot Remover

Where I live the hard water has taken it’s toll on my dishes. I got so tired of opening the dishwasher only to find water spots and hard water build up that was so bad, we started using plastic cups all of the time. I tried different types of dishwasher detergents and spent a lot of money on jet dry but nothing helped. After a conversation with my sister-in-law who lives just up the street, has the same hard water problem, even with a water softener, she had found a solution.

Simple Water Spot Remover

Mom’s this is one life lesson you are going to love. The best water spot remover has been sitting in your cupboard the whole time. Why I never thought of this before, I don’t know but here ya go:

DISTILLED WHITE VINEGAR

Adding about 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar to your load of dishes to be washed is a better water spot remover than anything you will buy on the supermarket shelf, I promise you.

I simply add my dishwasher detergent (I suggest a powder, that is all I have been able to find that works best), I then dump the white vinegar in the bottom of the door, close it and let the dishwasher do it’s job.

You can smell the white vinegar as the dishwasher cycles are running but when it is done, there is no smell of taste left behind. You can always run a second rinse cycle if this concerns you.

I buy my vinegar by the gallon each month right along with my dishwasher soap. It sits next to the dishwasher soap and my family all knows to use it as well.

My daily life lesson is about finding tricks and tips to make a mom’s life a little bit easier. If you have got some, please share, we all need a little help now and then!!
