I have found a great kids recipe this week to include in my cooking with kids series. I love baking easy brownies as much as my kids love eating them. But it is even better when the kids can do it. I find that the more I let the kids do themselves, the more independent they feel about all areas of their lives.
I love a cooking for kids recipe that includes the microwave because to me it is safer than the oven or stove-top and I can actually turn my back for a minute if I need to. So here ya go mom’s, let the kids make dessert tonight!
Easy Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 3/4 cups of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cups of flour
- 1/2 cups of melted butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
- Spray 8×8 glass baking dish
- Mix sugar, cocoa powder and flour
- Whisk butter, eggs, and vanilla
- Stir the dry ingredients into the wet with a spoon
- Pour batter into the baking dish.
- Microwave 4-7 minutes on high, just until the brownies are “done” in the middle.
- Let the brownies cool on a rack 5-10 minutes, then cut into squares and eat.
