Thursdays Cooking For Kids gives mom’s easy idea’s and simple recipes created just for the little one’s. The idea is to let the kids take over the kitchen and get creative with their hands, mind and spirit!
This week I searched for and found some great kids punch recipes. I buy more sqeezits, Capri-suns or cans of kool-aid than I would like and when I read the label of ingredients, all I can say is YUCK!! I cannot even pronounce half the words on the ingredient list yet I am giving these to my kids to drink.
So here ya go MommyMachelle readers, let’s get these kids healthy with some homemade kid’s punch recipes:
Orange Julius
Ingredients:
- 1 (6oz) can frozen orange juice
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 8-10 ice cubes
Directions:
- Mix in blender
- Possible substitutions: add 2 cans of water and 1/3 cup instant dry milk.
S.L.O.P.
Ingredients:
- 1 package (dry) strawberry kool-aid
- 1 package (dry) lemon kool-aid
- 1 package (dry) orange kool-aid
- 1 large can pineapple juice
Directions:
- Prepare kool-aid with the amount of sugar and water as directed. Add in can of pineapple juice. Stir well. You might want to add in a little more water for a less sweet drink.
Hot Spiced Punch
Ingredients:
- 1 small can of frozen orange juice
- 1 can of frozen lemonade
- 1 large can of pineapple juice
- 1 tsp. of whole cloves
- 3 sticks of cinnamon
- 6-8 quarts of water
- 4 to 5 cups of sugar
Directions:
- Heat all ingredients from list over medium heat until hot. Serve warm. This recipe also keeps good in the refrigerator for several days to reheat. A perfect recipe for Halloween night or a cold winter day.
Pineapple Crush
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 cups of water
- 1 tall can of pineapple juice
- 1 (no 2) can crushed pineapple
- 1 small can frozen orange juice, reconstituted
- 1/3 can frozen lemon juice
Directions:
- Boil sugar and water together. Add in remaining ingredients and mix well then freeze.
- To serve: mash the mixture up and mix with 7-up or sprite
- This is a popular kids punch recipes used at church gatherings here in our hometown!
