Cooking For Kids: Edible Playdough

MommyMachelle posts weekly Cooking With Kids Recipes that are kid friendly, inexpensive and mommy approved! As a stay-at-home and work from home mom I have to find activities for the kids that are simple enough that my older children can direct with the younger children.

Money is tight so I have think free or very cheap. I have found over the years that cooking with my kids can be entertaining, educational  but it can also give me some free time when my oldest takes over. Here is this week’s Cooking For Kids Recipe:

Mom’s, you know they like it. They know it tastes YUCKY. I know you hate the mess! What you ask? PLAYDOUGH!! The fun, messy, cheap stuff that entertains kids for hours. You know the “let’s get creative” gift grandma and grandpa give each year for Christmas. Or the little round thing that’s the perfect size, price and mommy mess for those party gift bags.

After 4 kids and 15 years of raising them so far, this mom hates play-dough. I honestly do. I have scrubbed more carpet, clothes and hair of dried play-dough than dirt, okay not really but they are running a close race. But this MommyMachelle has found a solution. I was watching a local morning show and one of the recipes was for edible playdough. I loved it so much I posted it on my main recipe blog: Cheap Meals For You Family because it was truly a cheap family recipe. It has been view so much the last few days that I thought I better bring it over here as this is truly a mommy lifesaver. For the MommyMachelle readers here ya go:
